About me
The most important thing you can know about me is that I am a Christian. I have been following Jesus since I was 18 years old, and that has changed everything – including the way I teach driving today! I will do my very best to show you the same kindness, grace and patience he has shown me.
A few more things about me:
I have been married to Raquel (who comes from Mexico) for 38 years, thanks to God's kindness, and we have two adult children and one grandchild.
I truly enjoy teaching driving! One of God's gifts to me is that I don't get nervous easily, so I am able to stay calm even with a teenager at the wheel driving us through rush-hour traffic. And that helps my students to stay calm, too.
I love teaching students to be good, defensive drivers! I see a huge amount of unsafe and reckless driving out there, and I love being able to do something to hopefully make a difference in that. My hope and prayer is that by patient teaching of defensive driving techniques, I will help you keep out of accidents and out of the hospital for years to come!
I enjoy young people! Although I am on the older side, my heart is with the next generation, and I thoroughly enjoy interactions with teens and young adults.
And last but not least, I want you to know that am not a racist! Anyone can say that, but let me give you two pieces of evidence: 1) I am married to a Mexican, and 2) I am part of a church where I am a racial minority. My church is majority Black, including our pastor. And that has been a wonderful experience over the past seven years in so many ways! Our church actually looks a lot like my neighborhood in terms of ethnic composition, and I love that, because it says that there is something bigger than our skin color or ethnic backgrounds that is bringing us together (it is Jesus!).
I hope to have the opportunity to be your driving instructor! I promise to do my very best to make you a safe driver!
